Marketing Coordinator
COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Established for more than 30 years, Thurra is an independent engineering inspection specialist delivering a professional, trouble free, responsive and competitive service from highly qualified and experienced engineers.
We inspect all types of plant and equipment including lifts, lifting equipment, pressure systems, power presses, press brakes and local exhaust ventilation.
From our Head Office in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, Thurra serves many parts of the UK via our extensive network of engineers.
Our Engineer Surveyors are responsible for carrying out engineering inspections, meeting the statutory examination and contractual inspection obligations of our clients’ plant and equipment.
Typical examinations include equipment defined in LOLER 98, PSSR 2000, PUWER as well as its application to power presses and LEV equipment defined in COSHH.
THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WORKING 3 DAYS PER WEEK (22.5 HRS)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily monitoring and engagement on LinkedIn and X (Twitter), including responding to comments and liking responses.
- Scheduling monthly content for LinkedIn and X (Twitter) via Hootsuite.
- Researching industry trends and working with the team to generate content ideas.
- Supporting mirrored posts on Facebook while ensuring all content aligns with company guidelines.
- Posting ad hoc updates for topical news stories or recruitment needs.
- Creating and sending a Monthly Electronic Direct Mail (EDM), plus additional targeted campaigns as needed.
- Publishing two news articles per month on the company website and Google Knowledge Panel.
- Managing and overseeing Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns in collaboration with our agency, including bi-weekly calls and monthly reporting.
- Supporting the sales team with lead generation, campaigns, and promotions, while conducting market intelligence and competitor analysis.
- Managing, updating, and optimising the company website for SEO in collaboration with designers and developers.
- Creating and distributing a new internal newsletter.
- Writing and managing press releases as required.
- Ordering and updating business cards as needed.
- Organising two internal social events per year.
- Coordinating branded merchandise in collaboration with the sales team and developing / maintaining general marketing collateral.
- Managing printed materials such as brochures and inspection guides, working with the designer.
- Supporting HR with branded workwear for engineers, ensuring correct logos and branding.
- Developing and maintaining general marketing collateral.
- Coordinating attendance and exhibition logistics for events, including stand setup and materials.
- Handling lead acquisition and data cleansing.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating compelling marketing materials, emails, and reports. Ability to liaise effectively with teams, clients, and vendors.
- A keen eye for creativity and an ability to generate fresh ideas to develop engaging marketing campaigns and content.
- Understanding of target audiences and their needs, and the ability to tailor marketing initiatives to appeal to those needs effectively.
- Knowledge of digital marketing channels (e.g., social media, email marketing, SEO, PPC, content marketing) and ability to utilise them effectively to reach target audiences.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and tools to manage, schedule, and analyse posts, ensuring engagement and alignment with the overall marketing strategy.
- Experience in conducting market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends, particularly in technical or engineering sectors.
- Proven experience in supporting the growth of a business through strategic marketing initiatives, contributing to lead generation, customer retention, and overall revenue growth.
